Colorado Governor Bill Ritter's Office Uses VideoBloom to Easily Communicate with Constituents

One of Colorado Governor Bill Ritter's goals for his tenure is to usher in a new era of transparency for Colorado citizens; if his office can make that transparency convenient for his constituents, all the better. Which is why his office is using Web video.

"In a large state such as Colorado, video allows us to bring state government to the people in new and exciting ways," says Mr. Chris Smith, Project Manager for the Governor's Office says. "As well," he continues, "online video gives Web site visitors a convenient and interactive way to stay in touch with their state government."

The versatility of the medium also allows the Governor to address a variety of topics. Recent highlights include topics as diverse as: a Web video on Carbondale's solar energy panels, the State of the State address, an interview with the Ritters about their time in Africa, and tips on how to save energy in your home.

When the Governor's office first started using online video, they tried YouTube but quickly felt constricted by the ten-minute video length limit, as well as their significant amount of branding. So, they turned to VideoBloom.
